MINEHEAD
& EXMOOR
Minehead is known as ‘The Gateway to Exmoor’
and is ideally situated for all the local attractions. An
ideal place to stay for railway enthusiasts. The West Somerset
Steam Railway is just down the road. One of Britain’s
longest preserved steam railways and new to 2007 its recently
restored turntable. A few minutes walk from The York is the
picturesque Minehead harbour with daily fishing opportunities.
Not far away is Butlins with entertainment
for all the family – Day passes can be bought at the
main entrance. There are a host of beautiful villages in and
around Minehead, plus stunning Exmoor, with wild deer and
ponies, buzzards and badgers. It’s a great place for
walkers and sightseers alike.
If you fancy more than a stroll, Minehead is
at the start of the 630 mile South West Coast Path around
Devon and Cornwall, ending up in Poole in Dorset.
